Project Description: After Google, YouTube is the most used search engine, with over two billion videos watched daily, and an average of 24 hours’ worth of video uploaded every minute! In an age where a viral video can turn a boy singing at home into an international concert draw, marketers are well aware of the need to offer video samples to prospective customers and clients. Tourism especially depends on video to sell their destinations to vacation planners.

Currituck County, in the northern part of the Outer Banks, hoped to increase tourism through e-mail marketing and website initiatives. While they encountered some success with both, when Spider Writers took on the task of creating their YouTube channel with a custom background and optimized videos, they noticed improvement in requests for information. With their videos integrated on blogs, Facebook, and links sent to Twitter, travelers could now see the beautiful shores and Currituck and the vacation homes available for rent, and that helped win the area more visitors during peak and off-season months.
